The Department of Transport has agreed to allow lorry drivers longer hours of driving with shorter breaks during the industrial action at the Port of Calais and the situation with the immigrants which both has caused major delays through the tunnel and with the ferries. The Department of Transport states that the exception only counts for the drivers whose journey are delayed directly due to the French farmers’ blockade and the problems with the immigrants.
